Boat Hire

Our boats are available to be hired for sailing by people with enough experience, when we have rescue boats on the water able to watch yout.   RYA Instructors will be available to support your sailing session.   A level of sailing equivalent to RYA Junior Stage 3 or Adult Level 2 or higher is needed.   Please contact angie@aberdeenshiresailing.org 07812380834, to check availability of the boat you want.

Please note that the Skene sailing season runs from April to June.   Our Peterhead season runs until the end of September.  

Prices are for a 2 hour session and include buoyancy aids & wetsuits.  

RYA Instructors will be available to support your sailing session.

It is essential to book in advance to check that the boat of your choice is available plus rescue cover and instructor support.   Please call the principal on 07812380834 or email angie@aberdeenshiresailing.org to check availability.

Guidelines for hire:

• Sailors should be RYA stage 3 or RYAs level 2 + standard.   

• Sailors should behave in a seamanlike manner when afloat.   Anyone deemed to be not competent in the boat that they have hired or deemed to be behaving in an un-seamanlike manner will be asked to return to shore in the interests of  safety of all of our participants.  

• Sailors should be aware of the conditions & skill level needed to sail the boat they have picked.    Our instructors will advise on the prevailing conditions on the day.    In adverse conditions we will cancel the hire.  

• Our instructors will define a sailing area for the hire in the interests of keeping the hire within sight of the safety boat and other sailors.   We require hirers to stay in this sailing area in the interests of their own safety and safety of all of our participants.
