Aberdeenshire Sailing Trust welcomes all participants, particularly those who might be from under-represented groups to the sport of sailing.   This includes but is not limited to people with disabilities, people from disadvantaged backgrounds, participants from ethnic minorities, LGBT participants, members of the travelling community and female participants.   We seek to provide opportunities for all regardless of age, sex, ability or disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, family status or background.

Our instructors will always challenge inappropriate behaviour, actions or words, so that all participants can enjoy learning to sail equally.

We believe sport can bring people together from all kinds of different backgrounds and give them an opportunity to share these core values through the sport.   Our instructors will facilitate this.

Our instructors will treat everyone with the same degree of courtesy and respect regardless of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation.

Our instructors will always promote the positive aspects of our sport and will never condone rule violation or cheating.

Our instructors will follow our safeguarding policy & procedures.

Our instructors will act with honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work & will respect the privacy of others and the confidentiality of information gained in the course of their instructing unless there is legitimate concern for the wellbeing of an individual.
